A masterpiece of miniature art
Each dial is a subtle work of art, combining a variety of colors, finishes, textures, decorative elements and overall design styles to give the watch a unique personality.
All aspects of dial design and production are completed in-house at Rolex. From the initial sketch to the final inspection, including coloring and marking, the entire process includes a series of steps and operations that include Rolex-specific expertise. These include exquisite craftsmanship inherited from the watchmaking industry for many years, such as enamelling, and modern advanced technologies such as magnetron cathode sputtering. Magnetron cathode sputtering refers to a precision technology that deposits a thin film in a vacuum environment to color the surface of the dial. The combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology in the manufacture of Rolex dials vividly interprets the essence of the brand's philosophy: the pursuit of excellence, to achieve exquisite, flawless, and lasting charm.
18K White Gold
Pursuit of Excellence
Rolex has its own foundry that casts high-quality 18K gold alloys. By mixing different amounts of silver, copper, platinum or palladium, different types of 18K gold can be refined: yellow gold, pink gold or white gold.
All raw materials are made of high-purity metals, and before the gold is formed, it must be carefully tested in the self-operated laboratory with advanced equipment. Each process is meticulous. The unremitting pursuit of excellence from the source of production is the consistent insistence of Rolex.
